The Tagada ride is a fairly common sight on fairgrounds in the UK and Europe. Consisting a "bowl" with seats around the edge that spins around and held up by pneumatic arms. The operator has direct control over the arms and can bounce the ride, usually in rhythm with some music.
Currently Health & Safety recommends that users may only bounce that ride when the rotation is over a specified speed. It is only a recommendation at the moment but some fairs require that it be follow.
A client of ours recently wanted to take his Tagada to Hull Fair, who do require the H&S's recommendation to be followed. We have developed a sensor to measure the speed and prevent the operator from bouncing it if the speed is too low.
We have done a lot of work with showmen, bringing rides
into compliance with H&S regulations as well as repairs and maintenance.
We have carried out the work on our premises and at sites around the world.
